Assignment # 5 – Web Banner Promo for a Movie

This assignment will incorporate everything you have learned so far.

First, choose a movie you would like to promote. Gather images and other material to use in your animation. Unlike the work we have done so far, this one will require the creation of a story board and animatics before the final version is done. The size of the animation is to be 500 X 250 pixel.

For the first phase, come up with your idea and create still visuals of the key moments in your animation. This is story board should be done in Photoshop, and be informative enough for others to understand what you intend to do. Organize your storyboard frames on an 8.5 X 11 page to be printed and submitted after Thanksgiving break on Nov. 28.

Over the break you will create a rough animatic in Flash, which will be 45-seconds long (like the final version). Animatics should run the same time as the final product, but the visuals can be sketchy and rough. However, they should give a good indication of the major movement and storyline in the animation. Make sure you follow your storyboard main ideas.

Finally, create a 45-second final version of your promo animation for the movie of your choice.
Implement any comments and suggestion we discussed in class and make sure all the visuals are sharp and well rendered, and that the final quality is superb! I will collect the finished Flash files on the final on Dec. 19, together with your animatic and printed storyboards.
